The estimator on this site is deliberately simple, and this page shows its whole machinery so nothing looks like magic.

Step 1 — documented losses

Medical bills, lost wages and other out-of-pocket costs you enter are summed as economic damages. Nothing is assumed; if you enter zero, it computes zero.

Step 2 — the multiplier

Non-economic damages (pain and suffering) are approximated with the multiplier method insurers commonly use: economic damages times a factor typically between 1.5 and 5, chosen by injury severity. This is arithmetic convention, not a valuation of your case.

Step 3 — your state's fault rule

The total is adjusted by the fault percentage you enter under your state's rule: pure comparative states reduce recovery by your share; modified comparative states bar recovery at the 50% or 51% threshold; contributory-negligence jurisdictions (Alabama, the District of Columbia, Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia) can bar any recovery where you share fault; South Dakota applies a slight/gross rule.

Step 4 — practical caps

Recovery rarely exceeds available insurance limits, so the tool notes where a policy limit you enter would cap the figure, and shows an illustrative net after a typical one-third contingency fee.

Everything runs in your browser; nothing you enter is transmitted or stored. Full caveats are on the disclaimer page.

Legal notice

This page is general information, not legal advice. Nothing on caraccidentclaimlawyer.us creates an attorney–client relationship, and no estimate produced by the calculator is a valuation, a prediction or an offer.

CarAccidentClaimLawyer.us is an independent informational website operated by Mustafa Bilgic, an individual who is not a licensed attorney and does not run a law firm. We do not accept cases, review documents, negotiate with insurers or refer you to a particular lawyer.

Deadlines, fault rules, damage caps and insurance requirements differ by state and change over time, and a missed deadline can end a valid claim permanently. Consult a licensed attorney in your state before you accept, reject or file anything. To find one independently, use your state bar’s referral service or the American Bar Association’s Find Legal Help directory.
